As we have been asked by many to give authors a little more time to prepare abstracts during the current Easter holiday break, we have extended the deadline for submitting abstracts for symposium presentations and posters to Friday, April 16, 2021.

A symposium consists of 4-5 talks, which together have 60 min for presentations and 30 min for discussion. Symposium proposals are submitted with a cover abstract of max. 250 words in English or German. The language of presentations should correspond to that of the abstract.

We pay attention to diversity (institutions, position, gender ratio) when selecting symposia.

Submission of symposium proposals was open until March 14. Feedback on acceptance of proposals will be provided by March 28. For accepted symposia, titles and abstracts of individual papers must be submitted by April 16. Contributions from symposia that have not been accepted are welcome to be submitted as posters.

Since all PuG events are held online, presenters must have a stable audio and video connection available during their symposium.

Posters are submitted with a title and an abstract (max. 250 words). The abstracts can be written in German or in English and should correspond to the language of the poster. The posters will be presented online during the conference in the poster sessions and can in addition be made available as PDF files.

Abstracts should be divided into introduction, methods, results, and discussion.

Poster registration is open until April 16. Feedback on acceptance will be provided by April 25.

Early career researchers (ECRs) can additionally apply for an ECR poster flash talk if they want to present their work in front of a larger audience. The poster flash will feature five-minute presentations by ten selected ECRs, each followed by a three-minute discussion. The presenters will be selected by the ECR representatives of bioDGPs and DGPA. The selection process will be results and discussion blind. To apply, paste an additional 250-word abstract of your work WITHOUT Results and Discussion sections in the field indicated “Results-Blind Poster Flash Abstract”. Use the additional words to more thoroughly explain your study’s rationale and methods. If available, including preregistration information is strongly encouraged.
